Ways to make an impact this Women’s Day

In less than a week’s time, it is International Women’s Day and this year’s theme is #ChooseToChallenge. Being in a challenged world where constant changes comes from the different challenges this year. So this year, womens, let’s all choose to challenge ourselves. International Women’s Day aims to forge positive changes for women all around the world. Make this International Women’s Day, the day you start doing what you can to truly make a positive difference for all the women around. 

Below are some activities you can participate in to celebrate International Women’s Day this year. 

1. Show your support and solidarity

Raise your hand to show you are in and committed to choose to challenge and call out inequality. Strike the #ChooseToChallenge pose and share it on your social media using the hashtags #ChooseToChallenge #IWD2021 to spread awareness and encourage those around you to help forge an inclusive world to make a difference. 

Also, you can send in your #ChooseToChallenge images and International Women’s Day will share images from all around the world through their website

2. Attend an online panel

Expect to be inspired to make changes when you hear women share about their experiences, knowledge and advice. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, gatherings this year will be moved online instead of in-person. But not to worry, there are still many great well-planned events lined up for you.

3. Support a women-owned business

Help contribute to an equal economic empowerment and a better economy by supporting businesses that are either owned or operated by a woman or women. 

“Make every dollar count more” by taking the initiative to look for and support local businesses that are owned by women. Spread the “challenge” to your friends and family and encourage them to do the same as well! 

4. Show your appreciation to the women around you

Take some time to send some simple words of encouragement and love to remind them how much you appreciate them. Send a text, a call or even a letter to tell your mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, girlfriend or a friend after reading this article to show your appreciation and affection towards them. ?
